Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs (IGFA) participated in the workshop held by the IDEA organization, entitled “Determining Public Interest Priorities in the Sudanese Peace Negotiations,” which was held in Baghdad. The workshop included four sessions: the first was devoted to discussing the causes of the existing conflict in the context of Regional and international developments. The second discussed the future of constitutionalism in Sudan, while the third focused on the ongoing peace efforts and what can be done to increase their chances of success, while the fourth touched on increasing the possibility of including civil participation, good governance and the rule of law in peace negotiations.
The session was attended by a number of diplomatic, academic and bureaucratic figures from the Republic of Sudan and a number of other countries.
