We welcomed members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs, congratulated them on the launch of their operations, and called for utilizing the democratic atmosphere to advance such projects that support the work of government institutions. We discussed with them matters of foreign policy, security, economy, and climate, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Iraq’s position in the regional equation as a link between the disputants of the region and a meeting ground rather than a conflict zone. We highlighted the importance of continuing proactive military operations to enhance security and stability, and noted that security achieves stability which attracts reconstruction, development, and public satisfaction. We also stated that Iraq is progressing in ending the international coalition’s mission to fight ISIS terrorism, transitioning to bilateral relations between Iraq and some of its neighboring countries. In the field of climate, we emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise to address challenges, and renewed the call for a regional system to reduce damages.
