Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani in Baghdad.
The meeting highlighted the importance of think tanks in providing advice and recommendations to decision-makers in governmental and non-governmental institutions, with the aim of achieving an effective foreign policy that serves the country’s supreme interests. It also emphasized their role in strengthening Iraq’s position in regional and international forums.
The discussions also covered several foreign policy issues: hosting the Arab Summit in Baghdad in 2025, the Development Road Project, the withdrawal of international coalition forces from Iraq, and Iraq’s role in halting the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
For his part, Prime Minister Al-Sudani praised the efforts of the members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs in enhancing Iraq’s presence on both regional and international levels, in line with Track II diplomacy.
