Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a number of heads of Syrian think tanks and research centers, who came to Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Syria and ways to enhance cooperation in intellectual and research fields, which would contribute to supporting regional stability and exchanging scientific expertise.
The Prime Minister affirmed Iraq’s firm and supportive position on the territorial integrity of Syria and its categorical rejection of all forms of foreign interference in Syrian affairs. He emphasized that Syria’s security and stability are an integral part of the security of Iraq and the entire region.
He also highlighted the importance of strengthening a unified national identity and relying on dialogue and understanding to resolve crises. He emphasized that cooperation between think tanks and research centers constitutes a fundamental pillar in consolidating common concepts and confronting intellectual and regional challenges.
