Third Session of the Iraqi Research Leadership Forum Explores “Economic Policies and International Partnerships: Opportunities for Integration and Cooperation”

The proceedings of the Iraqi Research Leadership Forum, organized by the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs, continued with the third session held under the title: “Economic Policies and International Partnerships: Opportunities for Integration and Cooperation,” with the participation of a select group of experts and researchers in economic and international affairs.

The session featured: Dr. Ahmed Al-Tabakchali, Economic Expert; Dr. Raed Al-Qadri, Senior Manager at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG); Dr. Rasha Nadim, International Legal Consultant; Dr. Ahmed Al-Kilani, Fellow at the Renewable Energy Research Centre in the United Kingdom; and Dr. Wathiq Al-Saadoun, Expert in Turkish Affairs. The session was moderated by Dr. Saad Salloum, member of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs.

The session addressed the reality of the Iraqi economy and the prospects for regional and international partnerships, focusing on opportunities for economic integration and expanding areas of cooperation in the energy, investment, and sustainable development sectors. Participants also discussed the reforms required to enhance the business environment in Iraq and the means to build strategic partnerships capable of supporting economic growth and diversifying national income sources.

The speakers emphasized that openness to the global economy and strengthening cooperation with international and regional institutions are essential pillars for achieving sustainable development in Iraq, stressing the importance of adopting balanced economic policies that ensure justice and stability and respond to the requirements of economic transformation.
