Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs met with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad.
The meeting discussed the importance of think tanks in providing advice and proposals to decision-makers in governmental and non-governmental institutions, with the aim of reaching an effective foreign policy that achieves the country’s highest interests, as well as its role in enhancing Iraq’s position in regional and international forums.
The meeting also touched on a number of foreign issues: holding the Arab Summit in Baghdad 2025, the Development Road Project, the withdrawal of international coalition forces from Iraq, and Iraq’s role in stopping the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
For his part, the Sudanese President praised the efforts of the members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs in enhancing Iraq’s presence at the regional and international levels, in accordance with Track II diplomacy.
