Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs met with the head of the Turkmen Front Hasan Turan, on Thursday 25 July 2024.
At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the Iraqi group provided a brief explanation of the role and objectives of the Iraqi group, in addition to discussing the practical steps taken by the Iraqi group during the previous period.
In turn, the head of the Turkmen Front praised the role of the Iraqi group in strengthening international cooperation between Iraq and its neighbors at the level of Track II diplomacy. He also reviewed the most important problems guiding the formation of the Kirkuk local government after holding the recent local elections, and the solutions proposed for them.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of maintaining coordination and cooperation on issues of common interest, to strengthen Iraq’s position in foreign policy, regionally and internationally.
