Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs met with the Chairman and members of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi Parliament on Monday 22 July 2024.
At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the Iraqi group provided a brief explanation about the role and objectives of the Iraqi group during the next stage.
The Chairman and members of the Foreign Relations Committee also praised the role of the Iraqi group in enhancing international cooperation at the level of the track II diplomacy, stressing the importance of the role of think tanks and the possibility of benefiting from the expertise and capabilities of the Iraqi group in providing advice and proposals in formulating foreign relations, and reviewing bilateral and multilateral international treaties and agreements.
The two sides agreed on the importance of maintaining coordination and cooperation between the two sides on issues of common interest, to strengthen Iraq’s position in foreign policy, regionally and internationally.
