Members of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs met with the head of the Al-Hikma Movement Ammar Al-Hakim. Foreign policy, security, economics and climate issues were the subject of discussion during the meeting. Al-Hakim congratulated at the beginning of the meeting the launch of the group’s work, calling for investing in the democratic atmosphere to proceed with such projects that support the work of government institutions.
Mr. Al-Hakim stressed the importance of preserving Iraq’s position in the regional equation as a link between the region’s rivals and an arena for convergence, not an area of conflict and strife. His Eminence pointed out the importance of enhancing security and stability in the country, which in turn brings reconstruction, development, and popular satisfaction, indicating that Iraq is continuing to complete the mission of the international coalition to confront ISIS terrorist organization, and the transition to bilateral relations between Iraq and some of its countries.
In the field of climate, the members of the Iraqi group stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences in facing challenges, renewing the call for a regional system to reduce the damage.
