The Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs held an extended meeting with a select group of international Iraqi researchers working in the most prominent regional and international think tanks, as part of their participation in the Iraqi Research Leadership Forum in Baghdad.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance communication between Iraqi research institutions and their international counterparts, and exchanged views on mechanisms for supporting scientific research and knowledge-based decision-making. Participants also discussed the important role played by Iraqi researchers in representing their country in academic and intellectual centers around the world, and their contribution to developing public policies on scientific and professional foundations.
This meeting comes within the efforts of the Iraqi Group for Foreign Affairs to build bridges of cooperation between researchers inside and outside the country, and to activate the role of the Iraqi research elite in serving Iraq’s issues and enhancing its regional and international standing.
